Additional services we offer include:
1. Connecting authors of scholarly monographs, textbooks and theses to experienced freelance academic editors.
We often receive requests from authors who have completed a ms. but need help in "polishing it up" so that draft sample chapters can be effectively submitted to a publisher. In many cases, the author can benefit from a frank and objective appraisal by an experienced academic editor and possibly substantive or copy editorial work.
In some cases we are able to provide general advice, of course, but this is not our main service- (we are concerned more with shaping the general "pitch" of the project rather than its specific editorial aspects).
We can refer your work to experienced academic editors. We contact up to half a dozen editors in two stages; first, we send them a synopsis of the work and let them know what you, the author, are proposing. Depending on their own commitments and specialties, the editors may then express interest in principle, We then send interested parties sample chapters so they can assess content and style, and spot any inherent problems.
Assuming one or more editors continues to be interested, we then forward their contact details on to you. You can be confident that the experienced editors we refer to you are 1) keen to take on the work, and 2) already reasonably familiar with what is entailed, saving you both a lot of time and trouble and enabling them to quote fairly.
The fee for this service is $300.00 plus applicable taxes.
The particular arrangement you and the editor of your choice come to is your business, of course. However, we are always glad to offer general advice on all publishing matters.

2. Putting authors of general non-fiction or "crossover" books in touch with commercial literary agents.
Saunders Associates can put you in touch with literary agents, and help you determine if your work has the potential for making the crossover to the general "trade" market.
First class research can sometimes be made accessible to a general readership, but this takes a lot of work in style and substance. The author has to come to terms with the perceptions of the commercial publishing world concerning what is relevant to general book buyers. This is where advice and input from a commercial literary agent is invaluable.
We ensure your draft proposal is in good shape and suitable for a more commercial "pitch", as well as making sure your draft chapters or sample writing are in good shape. We then send the material to up to half a dozen leading commercial literary agents, and follow up with them accordingly.
The basic fee for each service is $ 450.00.
